The main island of Vanuatu is Efaté, centrally located in the middle of the Vanuatu archipelago. Its main town - Port Vila - is the capital of Vanuatu, and Bauerfield International Airport is only about 10 minutes from the CBD. Port Vila offers a range of motels, hotels and resorts to those needing travel accommodation in Vanuatu. Other resorts and hotels are found on Efaté Island within easy reach of Port Vila.

Smaller islands are found just off the coast of Efaté, including famous Iririki Island (Port Vila Bay), Erakor Island (Erakor Lagoon), Hideaway Island and Moso Island (Tranquillity Island Resort). The popular CBS television series "Survivor Vanuatu" was filmed in the western region of Efate with views to Hat Island.
