Vanuatu is located in the south-west Pacific Ocean and has 22 islands, each with its own unique topography, history and culture. The main island is Efaté, roughly central to the island chain. This is the location for many of the Vanuatu resorts and hotels and main international airport.

The largest island is Espiritu Santo in the north. Commonly known as Santo, it is particularly popular for scuba diving holidays in Vanuatu, with many hotels and island resorts catering to the needs of scuba diver guests. Tanna, in the southern region is another popular vacation spot in Vanuatu, due to the Yasur volcano.
